Science Fiction Adventure
in the Far Future
Crew: Technically, this ship requires a Pilot and an Engineer to fly. If you plan to fire the guns, add 2 Gunners. The moment you add passengers you need a medic and a steward, though either position can be folded into one of the others, so long as they meet the skill requirements for both positions.
Converted from a TL 13 Artemis ClassArmed Scout, the Cooperton uses part of the original missile bay as cargo storage and moves all accommodation to the upper deck, doubling the original ship's cargo space, though it's still at a premium. The drives were then upgraded to TL15, with surplus lower deck spaces converted to fuel tankage. As currently outfitted, it has one pull-down bunk for the Engineer in the lower open area.
Despite slightly better than 120 cubic meters of storage space, crews are often forced to utilize hallways, crawl-spaces and common areas to store cargo. If the hold is being used to store an Air Raft, it's often used as yet another closet on an already tight design. Consequently, is it is often next to impossible to perform any routine maintenance on the ship while it is both overloaded and in space.
